Coarsegold Inn is located near Coarse Gold Creek adjoining Texas Flat where the second largest piece of free gold, valued at $15,000 was found. Gold is still being panned from the same creeks as were panned in the gold rush days, when flour sold for $20.00 a sack-and whiskey was worth its weight in gold literally. The first tourist trip for Yo-Sem-l-Te left from the trading post her, going in over Indian trails.
