Series GW-534-B Having reigned during the most dazzling decades of luxurious ocean-going travel, and new a victim of the Jet Age, this famous 31-year-old ship was bought by the City of Long Beach for conversion into a great museum-hotel-convention complex. On December 9, 1967, she arrived at her new home and tied up at Pier E where her 1200 passengers disembarked. In early 1969 she will begin a new career at Pier J, as a great landmark and visitors' attraction. |
