| This room is used for informal receptions. The white marble mantle, imported from Italy when the White House was rebuilt after the War of 1812, was originally in the State Dining Room. Portraits in the Green Room include those of Thomas Jefferson, John Quincy Adams, Martin Van Buren, and James K. Polk. |
