At the corner of West Clinch Ave and South Gay Street, The Farragut stands in the center of Knoxville's business district, near theatres, stores, rail and bus stations. Airline offices are located in the building. The Farragut is named for Knoxville's Admiral David Farragut, first full Admiral in the U. S. Navy. Now completely air-conditioned, it is one of the most popular hotels in the South.
