Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument is located on Monument
Circle. It was designed by Bruno Schmidt, construction was begun
in 1887 and it was completed in 1901. Bronze statues of repre-
sentative men of the times commemorate four epochs in the
history of Indiana. It is 2841/2 feet high.
