BATTLE MONUMENT
Trophy Point, West Point, N. Y.
West Point's most famous memorial. It was dedicated
in 1897, in honor of 2230 officers and men of the
Regular Army who were killed in the Civil War. The
figure on the granite column standing 46 feet from the
base represents "Fame." Contributions from comrades
and friends provided for this memorial.
