Immigrants Awarding Inspection At Galveston
Additional Details:
Series 10
Picture No. 10 represents immigrants waiting for inspection. When the passenger list is large and the Inspection is slow, as it often is, the immirants have a tiresome time waiting, but after three weeks in the steerage of a German immigrant ship ship they are very willing to come ashore and take their chances in the fresh air. They are invariably tired from the voyage and depressed for lack of fresh air, and above all hungry for a change of table fare. This cluser of immigrants look a litle fresher than usual." |
