5A-H293
Back:
The first house built in Utah was erected in
Salt Lake Valley in 1847 by the "Mormon
pioneers who arrived on July 24. The material used
was rough logs and slabs, cut from the same logs,
for the roof. The crevices between logs were filled
with mud.
This mural is one of the noted paintings in the
Utah State Capitol Building.
