As a rule the Indian prefers the dress of his tribal custom. Most Pueblos of New Mexico use the same style of costume, but many dress, or partly dress, in American clothes. The Pueblo Indian was the first to take up blanket wearing from the European, but it has been passed on to the Navajo. Their time is mostly occupied in basket weaving, pottery making, farming, hunting and stock raising. They are a fairly independent and thrifty class |
