Additional Details:
Stately palms beautify and pedestrian crossings over motor lanes make safe, this main entrance to the Golden Gate International Exposition on Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay. The stepped-pyramid "Elephant Towers" guard the main portal and the 400 foot Central Tower. Beyond the gateway, guarded from troubled atmosphere by great vertical "baffles", lies the magic city of this World's Fair, distinctively new in its "Pacific" blending of old architectures with new utility. February 18th to December 2nd, 1939
