The Hermitage, home of Andrew Jackson,
is situated twelve miles from Nashville and
is known as one of the nation's best pre-
served shrines. The handsome old estate has
been preserved and appears just as it did in
the days of "Old Hickory". The architecture
is colonial, the verandas wide and long and
the rooms large and spacious, and it contains
one of the finest collections of early Amer-
ican furniture in existence. In the flower
garden is the tomb of Jackson and his wife.
