TVA's Watauga Dam, on the Watauga River in east Tennessee, creates a reservoir contain- ing 677,000 acre-feet of storage for flood con- trol and for maintenance of a water supply for navigation and power production. Electric power installation consists of two 25,000 kilo- watt units. The dam is constructed of earth and rock fill with a maximum width through the base of 1275 feet. It is 320 ft. high and 900 ft. long.
