Additional Details:
Columbia River Gorge. At Crown Point the Columbia River Highway encircles the top of a great rock rising over 700 feet above the mile-wide Columbia, and is the highest point reached by the drive. Across the river you behold in the distance Table Mountain, whose broad flast top was according to the ancient Indian legend, the north pier of the fabled "Bridge of the Gods." In the foreground Rooster Rock rises up from the river, while in the distance 35 miles away the eye catches the snow-capped mountains, and for an equal distance the other way the majestic Columbia is in sight. "ON UNION PACIFIC SYSTEM."
