| The present church, completed in 1794, is the third structure erected on the same site in honor of the patron saint of Bourbon, France. It witnessed the exchange of the flags, December 1, 1803., when the flag of Spain was replaced by the tricolor of Napoleon’s France, which only twenty days later was succeeded by the 15 stars and stripes of the U.S.A |
