One of the most interesting historical buildings in Philadelphia,
dating back to before 1760. Used as a hospital during the Revolu-
tionary War, many of wounded at the Battle of Germantown were
cared for here. It was burned by the British but was soon rebuilt
and was a haven for many during the Yellow Fever Epidemic. For
many years an Inn, it was a favorite stopping off point for weary

travelers coming from Reading and Bethlehem. Just recently restored SEP 13
to its colonial splendor, it is now one of the largest and most
modern Flower Shops in the East. Although there are a hundred 10-PM
Florists Telegraph Delivery Members in Philadelphia, during 1953
one out of every twenty out-going orders came from this shop.
