| Gibson Hall, Tulane University, Richardson Medical School, Tulane University Tulane University on St. Charles Ave. was founded in 1884. Paul Tulane donated the greater part of his fortune, amounting to over a million dollars. The University owns a tract of land over a mile in depth and with a frontage of about 600 feet on the Avenue, 18 acres have been set aside for a campus.
