The largest of the Scottish lakes. It is about 23 miles in length, and its greatest breadth 5 miles. This lake is studded with thirty wooded islands of exquisite beauty, and from the surrounding hills flow the Endrick and six other principal streams, with innumerable mountain hills. The trip by steamer from inversnaid to Ralloch is a very delightful excursion. |
