Johannesburg-Cape Express. This train, on the Central
South African Railway, is one of the links in the late Cecil
Rhodes' great scheme of a Cape-to-Cairo Railway. It
travels between Cape Town and Johannesburg at an
average speed of 35 miles per hour, occasionally attaining
50 miles per hour. The train is of 3 ft. 6 in. gauge, and
includes dining and buffet cars.
