Rosalie: 1820, General Grant's headquarters during the occupation of Natchez in 1863. Hill behind house was site of Old Fort Rosalie, where the Natchez Indians massacred the white settlers in 1729. The mansion is now the property of the Mississippi Daughters of the American Revolution.
