This P-63 exhibited at AF Museum, W-PAFB, Ohio, closely resembles P-39 from which it was developed. Some AAF P-63's were used to train fighter pilots, and others were flown as armored target aircraft with lights which lit when plane was struck by frangible bullets fired by aerial gunner trainees. |
