Preserved as a public shrine, the birthplace of Dwight David Eisenhower, President of The United States of America, 1953-1960, is located in the southeast part of Dension. The famed World War II hero was born Oct. 14, 1890, in the first floor room on the right. His parents were david J. and Ida Elizabeth Eisenhower. The father was an employee of the Katy Railroad. The close proximity of Lake Texoma, one of the Nation's top recreational centers, serves to draw hundreds of additional tourists to the Eisenhower birthplace. |
