There are about 700 Moose in the park.
Large specimens are often seen in the vicinity
of Yellowstone Lake and in the meadows
near Mammoth Hot Springs. Like the wapiti,
deer and bears, the moose thrive in the park
and are increasing in number. This magni-
ficent specimen was photographed by Ranger
Frank Childs.
