The famous Farmers Market is shown here
in the active setting of the Gilmore Stadium
on the left, the Hollywood Stars Gilmore Field,
and the Pan-Pacific Auditorium in the back-
ground. The Farmers Market had its humble
beginning in eighteen crude little booths
offering fresh vegetables, fruits, eggs, poultry,
dairy products, homebaked bread, and Cali-
fornia wines, all direct from the farmer. From
this mushroomed the most unique and com-
plete marketing center of the West, offering
every type of foods, home furnishings, hard-
ware, apparel, gifts, and souvenirs.
