Utah-a great storehouse of mineral wealth.
Here more than two billion dollars in non-
ferrous metals have been produced since the
first prospecting in 1854. Large scale produc-
tion commenced with the discovery of the
famous old Emma mine at romantic Alta in
1868. Over 250 different minerals have been
found within the borders of this state. The
Utah copper mine at Bingham is the largest
copper producer in the world. Utah also has
enormous deposits of coal and iron.
