This picture contrasts the fine modern buildings
with the early structures of pioneer time. The lion
House, one of the homes of Brigham Young, still
stands with its quaint gables on either side of the
roof and the Lion (from which it derives its name)
over the front entrance. Next is the ultra modern
office building of the L. D. S. Church. This build-
ing is conceded to be one of the finest of its kind
in the country.
The Hotel Utah is one of the
really magnificient hotels of the west.
