SAINT FRANCIS EPISCOPAL CHURCH
RUTHERFORDTON, NORTH CAROLINA
The Episcopal Church began its work in this area in
the early 1800's. The present church building, begun
in 1898, is a replica of a fourteenth century English
countryside church. The stone was quarried for the
church building from a nearby site and it was con-
structed by local craftsmen and stone-masons. The
church is open daily to visitors.
