This stately, golden-domed building, since 1874
the scene of the enactment of all the laws of
the fastest-growing state in the Union, stands
in the center of a 40-acre Botanical Park con-
taining more than 400 specimens from all over
the world.
AT BENICIA

The original state capitol served for
two
legislative sessions in 1853 and 1854. It was
restored in 1957 by the native sons of the
Golden West.
