C-480-WASHINGTON AVENUE
GOLDEN, COLORADO
Golden is the home of the Colorado School
of Mines, founded in 1874. The location of the
city developed from a mining camp, established
in 1859 by a prospector, Tom Golden, for whom
the town was named.
From here, over scenic Lariat Trail, is reached
the top of Lookout Mountain, resting place of
"Buffalo Bill."
