BIRD'S EYE VIEW
HELENA, MONTANA
Helena is beautifully situated in the heart of
the mountains near Mt. Helena and Mt. Ascension
on U.S. Highways 12 and 91. Helena owes its
existence to the discovery of gold in the Last
Chance Gulch, now the city's Main Street, in
1864. It was chosen the State Capital in 1889,
when Montana entered the union. (Color by Ernst
