The world's first domed, air-conditioned sports stadium.
Home of major league baseball and football, the stadium
seats 45,000 for baseball, 54,000 for football, and up to
65,000 for conventions. The maximum height of the roof is
208 feet or approximately the same as an eighteen story
building. The dome spans 642 feet, twice that of any similar
structure. The outside diameter is 710 feet. 6,000 tons of
air-conditioning are used to cool the stadium which covers
91/2 acres of land. The roof contains 4,596 skylights admit-
ting the light spectrum range necessary to grow grass.
Parking is available for 30,000 cars.
