Taken from an original oil painting by the
noted cowboy artist and poet, L. H. "Dude”
Larsen.
Bulldogging, or steer wrestling as it is
sometimes called in rodeos, is often perform-
ed on the range in line with every day duty.
When a cowboy breaks his rope or has used
it in tying up a wild steer and still has an
other to go, with nothing except a small rope
used for tying down cattle, he proceeds to
catch the steer with his hands, wrestling down
and tying him, that he may come back later
and lead him out or bring a few gentle cat-
tle with which to drive him.
