MEN'S DORMITORY Tom Reed Hall, newest men's dormitory on the campus of the oldest chartered state university, the University of Georgia, Athens, has a housing capacity of 499. Featuring stone and metal construction, it will be fireproof, with modern equipment through- out. Standing high above Sanford Stadium, it will be convenient to both campuses; and on its completion, (about September 1952). it will house entering freshman boys under supervision and counsel- ing. "Uncle" Tom Reed, in whose honor the Hall is named, at the time of his death was the greatest living authority on the Uni- versity, its history and customs. He was known and loved by thousands of students who knew him as registrar. 84340
