American Museum of Natural History, located at 77th Street and Central Park West, was founded in 1869 as a museum and library of natural history. Among the exhibits are numerous animal and bird groups, dinosaur skeletons, Mexican and Peruvian material, extensive collections of gems, jades, ivories and amber.
