MADE ORLY BY DETROIT PUBUSNING CO.
It is evident that this proud Navajo Mother is
thinking of the time when her son whom she is
exhibiting herewith to the camera will be as expert
a silversmith as is his father. The art of Indian
handcraft is handed down from generation to gen-
eration, the son of a good silversmith is early taught
the silversmith art, the daughter of a good blanket
weaver at an early age is put to the work of helping
to make blankets and thus are the arts perpetuated
and kept pure.
