The Indians of nearby villages have been permitted
to establish a little market place here. They may be
found in greatest numbers during the seasons when
not occupied in planting or harvesting. The women
are usually from Isleta, the men from San Domingo.
Due to some native custom the conservative San
Domingans do not permit their women to appear
in public.
