LOWELL HOUSE, HARVARD UNIVERSITY CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS Lowell House was named in honor of President Abbott Lawrence Lowell. In the Tower hangs a Russian chime of seventeen bells, formerly in the Danailoo monastery in Moscow. The largest bell, 9 feet in diameter, weighs—with its tongue -131/2 tons, the smallest weighs 22 pounds.
