"PROSPECT," PRINCETON UNIVERSITY, PRINCETON,
N. J.--Since 1878 "Prospect," a stately stone house with
extensive rear gardens, has been the official residence of
the President of Princeton University. It was built in
1849 on the site of an eighteenth century farmhouse
owned by Col. George Morgan, whose scientific farming
brought him into association with Washington and Frank-
lin. Many official receptions have been held in the gar-
dens, which are at their loveliest in June.
