This wonderful residential district lies direct-
ly south of the business section, starting at
Forty-seventh and Ward Parkway. This dis-
trict was conceived by J. C. Nichols in an
effort to solve the problem of shifting and
declining neighborhoods by imposing the most
thorough restrictions possible. The Country
Club District for many years has been a
model for similar effort throughout the United
States.
