LINCOLN AND HERNDON BUILDING Southwest Corner Sixth and Adams Streets Springfield, Illinois In this building Abraham Lincoln had his law office from 1843 to 1852. Ilinois' first Federal Court and Springfield's first Post Office was located here at the same time. The Lincoln and Herndon building was built in 1839 and restored in 1968 by a group of private citizens.
