Altgeldt Hall, University of Illinois

UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS Champaign-Urbana ALTGELDT HALL was originally built as the University Library in 1896. It later housed the College of Law and is presently occupied by the Department of Mathematics. An excellent example of the Romanesque style of architecture, the building was named for John Peter Altgeldt, Governor of Illinois from 1893 to 1896.
