Founded in 1847, the University of Iowa is located in
lowa City, Iowa. The present enrollment is 30,000 with a
faculty of 1,500 on a 1,900-acre campus.
The University of lowa is an NCAA school belonging to
the Big Ten Conference. Its athletic facilities include
Kinnick Stadium (seats 66,000), Carver-Hawkeye Arena
(seats 15,450), the Field House, and a wide variety of
sports facilities for both varsity and intramural sports.
