Additional Details:
"26 Broadway" is the home of the Standard Oil Company of New York, familiarly known as "Socony". The Standard Oil Company of New Jersey and a number of other oil companies also have their main offices there. The building occupies the site bounded by Broadway, Beaver and new streets, and rises to a height of 507 feet above Broadway. The finial of the tower is aluminum, the largest casting of this sort in the world. The tower elevators are of the full automatic push-button control type, and were the first installation of this kind ever built. The architectural style is a free adaptation of the Renaissance.
