There are some twenty inhabited Pueblo villages
in New Mexico, comprising five tribal stocks, each
of which possesses a distinct language: Queres, Ti-
quas, Tewas, Zunis and Jemez. Each Pueblo has
its saint's day which is observed with the usual cer-
emonies. At Jemez this date is August 15th.
The Pueblo is reached from Albuquerque and has
been inhabited since the Spanish Conquest.
