A Caquct Type Kite Balloon. During the
War these balloons have developed very rapidly and now
are indispensable to an army. Their peculiar shape is
designed to prevent them from spinning. They are of
course moored, generally to a lorry, and can be wound
down or sent up very rapidly. The two observers wear
belts which are attached to parachutes, and in an emer-
gency simply jump out of their basket.
