THE BISHOP SIMON BRUTE LIBRARY
VINCENNES, INDIANA
This new library, on the Old Cathedral
grounds, houses some of the oldest books and
documents of the nation. Three-fourths of the
books were in the personal library of Bishop
Brute and many date prior to 1500. Many are on
parchment and bound in wood or metal.
