PLEASANT HILL, KENTUCKY
View toward East Family Dwelling House (1817)
and Brethren's Shop (1845). Each Shaker family
consisted of fifty to one hundred members, with
their own shops and lands, and their income going
into a common till. The Brethren's Shop was used
for making brooms and small wooden wares.
