The Unfinished Nauvoo House

| As it appeared until 1869, construction began 1841. This structure was to be a hotel and house the church offices. However, it was only partly completed. Later, part of the building was completed as a residence for Joseph's widow, Emma, who remained in Nauvoo with the children after her husband's death. She died in this building in 1879 |
