Angostura Dam, on the Cheyenne River, is located
9 miles south west of Hot Springs, S.Dak., and is one
of the largest of the Missouri Valley Development pro-
jects. Started in May 1946, this dam will, when com-
pleted, irrigate 16,180 acres. The surface area is 6000
acres, with a storage coverage of 220,000 acre feet. It
will be a wild life sanctuary, and will also offer the vis-
itor excellent swimming, boating and fishing facilities.
