Methodist beginnings in Port Jervis go back to 1812.
The present congregation was formed in 1832 and
formally organized in 1838, when a church building was
> erected on Hudson St. The present structure on Orange
ż Square was built in 1868, and rebuilt in 1894 after almost
complete destruction by a windstorm. Drew House, the
parish house, was added in 1923.
