The First Monument erected to the memory 1-AM
of George Washington is located atop South
Mountain and was dedicated July 4th, 1827. 1949
It is reached by a splendid road which inter-
sects U. S. 40 just east of Boonsboro, Mary W. VA.
land. It is maintained as a Maryland State
Park.
